At a quick glance, of your four SP, Young has received the worst percentage of ballpark singles. If he had Caldwell's success rate, then he would have allowed 7 fewer singles. Those singles extend innings and could result in another couple of runs. Additionally, with Young on the hill, opponents have stolen 17 bases (12 more than with Caldwell pitching) and been caught only thrice (5 CS with Caldwell hurling). That's probably 10 or 11times where a runner went from first to second. So, 10 or 11 times a runner has been in scoring position that was not already. Cy has the fewest gidp of your SP too, and no doubt that's a reflection on the runners moving up on him. Young has also received the worst run support of your SP: 4.41 r/gs, where Caldwell gets 7.46 r/gs. Young has the worst e-rating of your SP, and your pitchers have accouted for 12 errors. Young has the most unearned runs of your SP, with 20, so undoubtedly he's also allowed extra runs and runners due to his own fielding deficiency.
Extra hits, extra runners in scoring position, fewer dps to kill rallies, and horrible run support means poor stats for a good pitcher.
