I want to try ATG 7. Is it possible to use the post WWII set that doesn't include Expansion Years or the Negro League? Is there an ATG xx game that contains only the post WWII?

No, Post War Set includes the post and exp cards.

Well actually, just today I was looking at the new search feature for free agents and must say its pretty nice.
Under "advanced" you can set a range of years and have that be your available pool of players. Honor system but fairly easy to notice/enforce.
