Not good at home

PostThu Mar 21, 2013 6:23 am

Sorry to be off topic.I'm having a bad time at home.My mother is in the hospital. She had another heart attack. She's doing much better. On tuesday,I had to take my dog to the vets and he was put to sleep. This was really hard to deal with.He died in my arms.I'm home alone and am very depressed.I tried putting together a couple of teams but this didn't even help much......Dugger

Hey Dugger -- I know you've had to deal with your own health issues lately, and all I can say is I feel badly for your loss. Keep your chin up and resolve to make each day better than the last. I lost my wife recently, and what helped for me to get over the grief and pain was looking outward instead of inward. By that I mean look for nice things you can do for other people, volunteer at church or in your community, and do secret acts of kindness. Second thing is get out of the house, exercise and try to get in better shape. It'll improve your spirits and keep you busy / active. I'll be pulling for you -- Dan

Dugger...I know that it is not easy to stay positive when all around you seems to be crumbling...but prayer and doing things to keep you busy will help ...as super typhoon stated get outside take a walk and enjoy all the good things in life...I hope your mom recovers and that you are comforted in the loss of your dog...God bless...

Dugger,

Tell your Mom she has to get home right away to help you choose the infield for your new team. Hope she recovers quickly. We expect to see her in a frenzy next week.

So sorry about you losing your dog. That bites big time. If my wife had any say in it, you'd have a new puppy inside of three weeks. That's not my method for handling grief, but I never had enough votes in the matter to get to make the decision.

Hang tough big guy.

Dugger,

All my best wishes for your Mom's speedy recovery. It seems as if life throws stress and trouble at us in batches. Never one thing at a time. I've often wondered why this should be the case, but then I read this:

"Difficulties strengthen the mind, as well as labor does the body."

I try to remember this when I'm enduring times as hard as you are right now, and I hope the thought helps you through this, too.

My condolences on the loss of your pet. Been there.

Also echo the scentiments of those encouraging you to get out amid people volunteering.
Take a short break from this because as much fun as this can be allows too much time to focus on the bad feelings.
Even just going to a movie would be better.

I am with Frank's wife. When you are ready encourage you to get another loving pet.
