Any advice for this team at this point

PostWed May 29, 2013 10:30 am

Languishing around at .500

Can't get Walker and Bench untracked offensively.

Any lineup advice?

Bullpen is Miljus in middleman and set up rolls
Fryman as closer.
Rixey as mopup.
Pray the other two don't get used by HAL.

Or what did I do wrong from the get-go?

I never play leagues above $80M (except for tourneys), but I will say you need more BP HR cards. Speaker and Collins are great OBA guys, but not ideal for your ballpark. Looks like lack of power is hurting you on the road too.

I checked your schedule -you are in a division with bandboxes, 2 Polo Grounds and a Wrigley. lack of BP Homerun chances is a huge problem for you. Plus you have faced 75% RH starters and your lineup is slanted for LHP (especially Bench). I would keep Walker -he is 4R. Bench's problem is that he is a 4L.

Well - do you suggest switching out Bench for someone else at this point?

IMO you need bullpen help, you need at least an E, or a RP that can get RHB out.

Also, are you platooning Walker? If not you should. Try Leon Culberson to hit LHP, he's very cheap and can be effective in a platoon. Ellis Valentine as well, 3.81 card will hit LHP.

Consider losing Bench for a more even hitting C. Campanella has an E card.

perhaps trade Bench for his 72 card or see if 77 Fisk is available.

Speaker, Collins, Sisler, Hamilton? You built a small ball team but you are playing in Briggs. At least three of those guys should be sluggers instead. Plus I would dump Rixey. You probably can spend that three million better.

Well, that happens when you choose your ball park at the same time you draft, but then you don't get your original draftees.

I know Hamilton was a late waiver pick; should have looked elsewhere.
