What I do wonder about is whether there is some "leveling" in the playoffs where the better team is somehow handicapped OR the underdog is given an X% boost the way the home team is favored in the regular season by some small edge.

If so, it really should be transparent, and you know what? I can deal with that. But not if it's opaque.
