Opening Day

PostSat Apr 05, 2014 1:09 am

Remember when opening day was a big deal. I mean a huge deal. But does any one care that the season started on Monday? To be fair I haven't attended a Major League game since 1987 (I could, I live in the SF Bay Area) and I won't bore you with the many reasons. Also I haven't watched an ML game on TV in well over 20 years. I do attend 50-75 Minor League (class A, and AAA) games a year so I am tuned into ML Baseball indirectly. But I just don't hear any buzz on TV or radio sports or from people in general like I used to back in the day. I think one reason is that there are far too many sports on TV but I don't know, I don't get that "new grass on the field" vibe from people any more. I get it for Minor League baseball though. I'm attending my first game this year in Sacramento (AAA, Oakland A's) next Friday. And I can't wait. :D
Thoughts on ML Baseball? To be clear I'm not talking about my lack of interest in MLB but just my fellow Americans. There just doesn't seem to be a big interest with the "man on the street" Or is it just my imagination runnin' away with me?

Maybe it is me. :( :(

Not me,I just bought a big screen TV and with MLB tv I get every game that is on tv.That is with having a smart tv.We had a AAA team for years and got tired of watching a lot of older players finishing off their careers.AA had most of the up and coming stars. Some of the AAA players were old and I got to know a lot of the players.I coached a junior mens team and on games when we didn't play mty catchers use to catch in the bullpen for them when needed.
