I have played SOM for many years under a different name. When the game was under Bernie's control at TSN, he at least communicated with the customers.
There was no doubt a love/hate relationship with Bernie back then, but he always eventually responded and acknowledged the "wants and wishes" of the customers. He may not have delivered on all wishes, but if you consider he did everything himself with limited resources, he did a good job.
Unfortunately, the are 10x more people running the show and they think they know what to push with regards to the product. And they don't listen or acknowledge the customers. They don't have a clue, nor does it appear that they care. JMO, it is worse now then at TSN.
I agree, it should be a no-brainer to add or switch out cards and re-price cards every 3-4 months to keep the game interesting.
Unfortunately, they are content to push ideas that no one is interested in, like the shuffle your deck nonsense. Wow, take an existing set of cards and create a limited card subset out of it. How innovative is that???
I am sorry to say I am not being negative. It is just past experience from many years of being a customer. I wish they would prove me wrong.
