I usually go with a S/R like Minarcin or Vande(Berg) (love that).
What is the advantage to a S that doesn't pitch?

That is a major reason why I believe the on-line game is a joke; in our face to face league, we use a 5 man rotation with 3 emergency starters because up to 3 people on the team can be injured at a time; we also limit reliever usage to 3 consecutive games & a maximum of endurance rating x 3 for number of innings pitched per 3 game series. In addition, pitchers are injured on any triple six roll.

I get that you don't want him to pitch at all, but here's a pretty good team with FOUR fifty cent pitchers

I don't believe that it is an advantage to be paying for a guy you never use. I try to build rosters that use every player even if it is just for mop duty or as a pinch runner.

Did Dinesh D'souza cover this phenomenen in his newest book? Maybe Freakonomics 3 will mention us

I have to say that is pretty funny. I didn't even know there was a "Freakonomics 2". Dinesha D'Souza is a kook.

I think some of the people who are complaining about SOM in general or the game take it a bit too far, though that is certainly their right. I continue to think it is the greatest game simulation of the greatest sport. ATG is fun but nothing beats the strategy of the Mystery Games. Have fun guys!

It's a simulated fantasy game where you get to see your heroes and dead people you only got to read about come to life. But wait, "HAL used my wrong pinch hitter and I lost the championship! I could have been king and now I have to shell out $20 more for 8 weeks of entertainment"? And my 5th starter that I never want to use has gone up in price? whoa!
Everyone check the cushions of your couch or just pick up the spare change laying out at every convenience store u visit and your good for another 8 weeks of being jerked around!
