PJM,
Some of that disconnect goes back to trying to create subsets that could stand on their own way back when the huge set was originally released. There are very few pure relievers for the pre 1920 guys, so they were basically artificially created in an effort so that the Era could stand on its own in game play. However, no one seems to play the game based on those subsets. On the Rollie Fingers thing, that card probably should have the starter rating dropped but it slipped through the cracks.
All of the cards like Fingers who only started a few games but get a starter rating, must be manually identified and dropped for the online version. If the starter rating isn't dropped then the pitcher must be priced as a starter, even though the '73 Fingers should really be the closer and priced as a reliever for that world series team.
