Question on SB settings

PostMon Jul 14, 2014 11:30 am

Confused on the difference between individual SB setting and team setting. My understanding on individual settings is if left blank the player will only attempt a SB on the good jump and if set at more will attempt on both the good and bad jump. Does the team setting work the same way or does it increase or decrease a players attempt grade? Say if you set the team setting on aggressive will it raise a B grade to an A and if the individual setting is left blank still only allow him the run on the good jump?

I think the actual working of the settings is more subtle than a strict interpretation of good lead / bad lead. Catchers arms pitchers hold all enter into the equation. The game engine prefers to attempt to steal bases late in games and setting the team setting to aggressive will lead to more attempts to steal third and even home. A setting of conservative for team and steal more for individual will lead to fewer attempts at third and more attempts only with a good lead, versus even less attempts if you do not add steal more, but this is not absolute.

A setting of team aggressive and steal more individual will lead to the most possible steals and a lower level of success of stolen bases overall.

The 'AAA-F' ratings don't apply to the online game even though they are listed.

Go only by the chances of stealing and leadoff rating which would be affected by the pitchers hold rating.

stealing-(C) 4-6/10 (15-8)

so here the (C) is meaningless.

If he gets the lead then there is a 15/20 chance he makes it +/- the catchers arm rating.
and only an 8/20 if he does not.
This is where the settings come into play- if you are on aggressive then there is a higher likelihood that he will attempt to steal even when he does not get the lead, although probably still not too likely here unless the catcher has a + something arm.

someone please correct me if Im wrong.
