Andrew Susac's 'first' MLB hit

I thought this was rather interesting. Years from now it will make a unique trivia question.

I saw that earlier today. I suppose they have no mechanism to show a game completion with a different date.

But yes, this will be a trivia question going forward, "What player recorded a hit in a major league game before he was "officially' on a major league roster?" Or something like that.

Thanks for the post Valen. An interesting conundrum. I have watched Susac's progress over the last couple of years at San Jose (class A advanced) and Fresno(AAA) and he is hitting better in the Majors than he ever hit in the minors and fielding better for that matter. The kid is a quick study and learns from his mistakes.
But your post got me to thinking about a great book I read called Bottom of the 33rd. It's about the 33 inning game between Rochester and Pawtucket in 1981. The game started in April and was called for time and had to be resumed in June. There was a lot of interest in the game at the time because of the MLB strike at the time and Baseball needed some good news. As I remember there were also players who played in the resumption of the game who did not appear in its start. Also future Hall of Famers Wade Boggs and Cal Ripkin played in the game. It's a good read and gives a lot of insight into how a minor league franchise is run.
