The F*&! HAL factor

PostFri Nov 07, 2014 11:47 am

Took me all this time but I finally found an instance where the F-rating on a pitcher makes a difference. Everything else being normal, Hodges should have been out. Of course, as often seems to be the case, HAL keeps finding new and creative ways for this team to lose. Anyone have an idea of what the threshold is for when an out becomes a hit? F5, F6?

BOTTOM OF INNING 9
0 C.Knoblauch 6-6 Fly Out (RF) b-0 F9
1 E.Delahanty 4-7 Walk b-1 F9
1 1 B.Herman 6-11 Double (LF) 1-3 b-2 fly(LF)x F9
1 23 G.Hodges 2-8 Single (CF) 3-H 2-3 b-1 bpHR 1-2 F3

For me, the threshold is that an out becomes a hit whenever my opponent's 4L platoon #8 hitter comes up against a right handed pitcher with the game on the line.
