New League...Home Run Limited

PostSat Jan 31, 2015 2:07 pm

Home Run Limited...Please Read rules!!

1. No batters with more than 5 ballpark home runs (#) on either side of their card. (For instance, Al Simmons 9.73 and 10.48 are out (too many #), but 8.85 is okay.)
This includes bench players.
2. You must play in one of the following parks:
Baker Bowl '11 or '34, Briggs Stadiums '41 or '57, Cath Prep Oval (NeL), Coors Field '05 or '09, Crosley Field '66, Ebbets Field '57, Fenway '41 or '67, Fulton County '78, Mack Park (NeL), Stars Park (NeL), Tigers Stadium '78, Wrigley '78. 3. No other restrictions apply.

We'll end up with a hitters league and plenty of runs, plus high averages. But, nobody is going to hit 70+ home runs as all the high-priced sluggers aren't eligible.

Plus, No Petco (or similar)!!!

Did you mean total of five # on the whole card? It seems that those Simmons cards don't have 5 on either side...
or maybe I read your rules wrong?

I like the idea...

I'm talking about the value of the # on the card. A # next to a 2 has a value of one (there is only one possible roll to get a 2). A # next to a 7 has a value of six (there are 6 possible roll combinations to come up with seven). A # next to a 9 has a value of four.
2=1
3=2
4=3
5=4
6=5
7=6
8=5
9=4
10=3
11=2
12=1

On Simmons' most expensive card he has a # next to a 2, next to a 7, and next to a 12 against both righties and lefties. This makes a value of 8 (1=6=1) on both sides of his card. That card is out.

On Simmons' cheapest card he has a # next to an 8 on both sides. That is a value of 5 for each side. This card qualifies.

Hope this helps.
