Weekenders' Live Drafts

PostSat Jan 16, 2016 1:46 pm

I have noticed that there are sometimes live drafts on Friday and Saturday nights and the leagues usually fill ....

Are the Friday night and Saturday night live drafts almost always with a 999 million dollar cap?

Are there ever ATG8 live drafts for 100 million dollar caps?

Is it worth it for me to try to put one together? Thanks in advance for any information, advice, or interest!

Most of the time the live drafts are higher caps;

Think the lower caps present less of a challenge for Live b/c there are an abundance of players that can be used---
not claiming it would be easy, just saying one of the things about live is assembling a team where you have to think about taking certain players at certain times.

Maybe it's because I love to play $60M, but I disagree.

$200M or no limit, the entire set is there every round.
The pool for $60 could be half the player pool after 2 rounds if you have to allow for 23 nickel players?

Well the next time I see a Friday or Saturday night live draft that is somewhere in the 80, 90, 100 or maybe 120 (at most) million range, preferably DH, I will jump in. Thanks for your comments and insights.

Im not totally disagreeing, but what Im trying to say is that the challenge is different.

See in high caps we don't care if you are getting the greatest value player for the money- you try to get the BEST player to fit what you want, regardless of salary -- with the problem being a small choice of who might be effective enough to be worth taking at a certain spot.

In lower caps you need to get the better valued player for what you want, but there is a larger pool of players that can give you good value at a certain pick.

I participated in a 160 mil live draft at Christmas. That's about the lowest cap that I've seen that has drafted in a long time. I would prefer to do a live draft from 130 up to 200. I don't get the attraction with the 999 drafts since you only can use less then 250 to draft and maintain a team.

I'd love to live drafts in the 120 to 160 mil range.
