Where is your favorite

Where is your favorite position to draft when doing a live draft with ATG8 and no cap? Do you like getting Ruth and the first pick? Do you like picking in the middle? Or do you like picking 11th or 12th? Which is your favorite place to draft with the live draft and unlimited cap?

For me draft order in serentines always depends on players being chosen. If my predraft list had say three players that were all acceptable then position #3 would be ideal. Maybe one guy is so far ahead of the others then #1 is the only place to draft. Maybe 12 guys are all about equal so #12 would be fine etc etc. This was the strategy I used in a Strato football league I ran where we actually drafted draft posiitions.

Interesting. In my latest draft the guy picking 4th got Rogers Hornsby so 4th doesn't seem to bad. 11th or 12th is nice because at least you know you will be picking back to back or pretty close... First gets you Ruth, Second maybe Bonds?

Ruth Bonds Gibson 1-3. 7 is usually Oscar Charleston who I love. 12 you have a lot of options (often Ted Williams) plus you can really ruin a lot of other managers drafts from that spot (examples: take Brett and Schmidt, or Lajoie and Morgan)

My preference would be 5-7. Mostly because closer you get to 1 or 12 in a serpentine draft you wait a long time between picks. Yes, there are some things you can do drafting 2 in a row but that means another 22 players go off the board while you wait around to make your next picks. I hate to admit it but older I get the shorter my attention span is. I have to wait 20 picks or more between selections I lose interest.

Steve F, boy you are good. I went 7th and who do you think I got, Oscar Charleston. I like him too, of course I traded him but still, he was a good pick! I have actually made a lot of trades. My team started 3-6 but since has gone 18-9. I am sure The Last Druid who is currently in last place would say I have been lucky. Though to be fair to myself, there have been 64 more rolls on my opponents' cards than on my own. Plus I have played 6 more road games than home games and my defense is under performing......
