Yes, I've only used him in larger cap platoons, and not recently.

I used him for a while because he was a favorite back in the day. But realistically the card needs to be platooned but except at higher caps the salary is just too much for the lesser half of a platoon.

I assume we're talking about the top card, but I've had some luck with the 6 mil card. In general, like most of the Reds from the 70s and 80s, he needs to be in a hitter's environment. Here's a reasonably good team (check out Frank Gabler :shock: ) with the 6 mil card in Royals 80:
