Would this mean that fatigue is less important in $60M cap leagues where the hitters cards generally stink?

If you select quick move AND select aggressive bullpen, my experience is that the SP will be removed as soon as he hits his F-level.

To labratory, absolutely.

I am definitely going to try that. It makes sense it would respond that way. I have two S7 pitchers I concerned about and what I believe will be a well above average bullpen.

Correction

If you select quick move AND select aggressive bullpen, my experience is that the SP will be removed as soon as he hits his F-level.

I should have added ...as soon as he hits his F-level by allowing a walk or a hit

Hal remains quite often still if the Fatigue rating goes down simply after registering outs.

According to the rule as I understand it.... And keeping in mind that how it is implemented may not be the same as the rule. There is always the chance of poor coding.

Do not relieve before F5 logic would go something like this.

Pitcher is at F8. Hal thinks about relieving. Nope, F8 means he has not dropped to F5 so my rule says do not relieve.

Pitcher gets a little tired and drops to F7. Hal thinks about relieving. Nope, F7 means he has not dropped to F5 so my rule says do not relieve. Skip rest of reliever logic. I am not supposed to relieve before fatigue sinks to F5.

Pitcher gets a little more tired and drops to F6. Hal thinks about relieving. Nope, F6 means he has not dropped to F5 so my rule says do not relieve. Skip rest of reliever logic. I am not supposed to relieve before fatigue sinks to F5.

Pitcher gets a little more tired and drops to F5. Hal thinks about relieving. F5 means he has dropped to F5 so my rule says I can relieve. That does not mean the pitcher will be removed. Only that before this point he could not be relieved. At this point Hal would then refer to his normal bullpen logic settings. What point in the game is it? If I did relieve what role would be called for? Who is set for that role and who is set for a different role and thus not now available to me? Whatever else and however else that logic involves. It is all in play.

Leaving the do not relieve before F8 is suitable for almost any situation, you do not want your pitcher draining down to an F5 you are just keeping him in to be pummelled. By the time he hits F8 you have gotten all the good you could get out of your pitcher and do not want to press your luck, not very often will you see success with a pitcher at F7

I've played and played with that setting. I generally leave it blank. The default actually seems to work the best for all situations for me. I find the quick and slow hook to be more effective leaving the F#s blank. If say the team is on a roll and Wagner has closed 6 games in a row and needs to close the 7th, HAL will still bring him in if he is F0. For me his F0 is usually better than any other fresh reliever for closing. Leaving it blank you don't quite have Sparky Anderson yanking him but more like a Bobby Cox.

I like to use those settings when I have a mix of two strong starters and two weaker ones with an average pen, or even 3 strong/1 weak and an average pen. Set my ace starters to F8 and then set Relief to Aggressive. That way I use up all the good my aces can give me, but with the other SPs, they will be relieved for quickly. Saves my average pen to pitch along with my average SPs, while my aces get the lion's share of the innings.
