"Secondary" Franchise League

PostThu Aug 17, 2017 4:32 pm

This is a carded franchise league excluding most of the traditional “side A” teams. The Cardinals, Cubs, Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers, Indians, Tigers, Giants, and A’s franchises are not available to play. **Any player carded only to the above franchises is ineligible for the season and must on the FA list by opening day at the latest*** Additionally NeL players are ineligible and will remain FAs for the entire season. Pick one of the 12 franchises or franchise combinations: 1)Braves 2)Reds 3)Phillies 4) Pirates 5) White Sox 6) Browns/Orioles 7) Expos/Nationals AND expansion Milwaukee Brewers (2 Franchises) 8) Senators/Twins AND Rockies (2 Franchises) 9) Mariners and Mets (2 Franchises) 10) Expansion Pack (Kansas City, Toronto, Tampa bay, Miami, and Arizona) 11) Astros, Padres, and BLN (Jennings, Kelley, Keeler)-3 Franchises 12) Angels, Rangers, and Old-timers: Louisville (Hecker and Browning), PAA (Seward), BRS (Barnes), DTW (Baldwin). NO franchises can be duplicated. You may chose to auto draft any player that has a card for one of your franchises, even if they are also carded to an excluded franchise. If the player has ANY card for your franchise, you may choose to draft and use ANY card the player has, including years carded to an excluded franchise. For example Reggie Jackson has Yankee, Oakland, and Anaheim cards. The Anaheim manager can choose to use any Reggie Jackson card including the Yankee or Oakland cards even though both of those franchises are excluded. If a player is designated as NeL or is carded ONLY to an excluded franchise or franchises, they may not be placed on your draft card, and must be dropped as soon as possible if received in the AD. By opening night the only players that can be on your roster are the ones that have a card for your one of your franchises, and players you traded for. Traded players are not restricted by franchise so long as all players involved have a card for the franchise trading them away (or were received by that franchise in a valid trade). If a player is traded, and later released into the FA pool, any team for which that player is carded may claim him, as well as the team that release the player. You must also choose a ballpark that one of your franchises played in. I think these franchises are pretty balanced. They all have clear weaknesses which should be fun. League is open as a $999 million cap. Please label your team name with the teams you picked. Please read the rules and if you have any questions let me know.
