Just had a 3 game face to face series tonight that made me want to hang myself; after getting shut out in the first two games, I started Sam McDowell in game 3. Twice in the game my opponent rolled a 1 on a triple-1, fly out 2-20 roll. In the ninth inning his OF Pete Browning had a chance to make an error with men on 1st and 2nd with no outs-when my opponent rolled the dice one came up a 3 while the second die fell on the floor and needed to be rerolled--he needed a 6 to save himself the error and of course rolled a six. The probability of all 3 events happening in the same game is 1/20 x 1/20 x 1/6 = 1/2400. I lost 9-4 --if those events had not occurred I would have won 6-5. I've played this game for nearly 30 years and still see things that leave me wailing and gnashing my teeth!
