Bunting

I built a couple of bunt heavy teams that had success recently:

Both teams had excellent records. Both teams had every single player set to BUNT MORE on the hitter settings and the team was set to VERY AGGESSIVE.

So with those very extreme settings, how many times did they actually attempt a sacrifice bunt in the 162 game regular season????

Between them they averaged about 1.1 bunts per game.

Which makes me think this whole don't have your good hitters ever bunt is probably overblown.

Thoughts???

Noone, not even Peter Noone, lead singer of Hermans Hermits, would use those settings unless they were enticed by a Monthly Challenge. It's possible you would have scored more runs without the extreme settings, even with only 1.1 bunts per game, but, the Monthly Challenge made the risk worthwhile. It's called "I'm down to my last credit. Runs be damned, I'm selling out to the man!!!!!"
