Baseball players today have no clue how to run the bases. Obviously they've never been taught and apparently are too dumb or unconcerned to figure it out themselves. So base coaches throw up the stop sign more often, giving OF'ers fewer opportunities to throw them out. Add to that the fact that today's MLB is nothing but HR derby, so why risk getting a runner thrown out trying to take the extra base?
