A real fan favorite for a cheap 5-man rotation until his salary jumped by $2 million, I was surprised to see a byline for him on The Atlhletic website. He's had 3 or 4 articles published there the past couple of months. Apparently he's trying his hand at a second career, albeit on a sinking ship.

Never knew too much about him. The grand repricing didn't do everything right, but it did a great many things very well and this was one of them.

The Athletic is losing a lot of money and trying to find a buyer to stay in business. Subscriptions are down and the renewal rate isn't sustainable for long term survival. That's what I meant by a sinking ship.

Yes agreed...there are many of those pickin' fruit gone at the low end. And of course some head scratchers in the other direction, like Shano.
