Here is the boxscore from one of his 3 all star appearances where he hit a pinch hit 8th inning Home Run at Candlestick. The collection of all-stars is impressive: Koufax, Spahn, Stan Musial, Maury Wills, Mickey Mantle, Hank Aaron, Ed Mathews, Roberto Clemente, Orlando Cepada, Frank Robinson, Roger Maris, Rocky Colavito, Norm Cash, Harmon Killebrew, Yogi Berra, Smokey Burgess, Johnny Temple, Tony Kubek, Al Kaline, Bill White, Nellie Fox, Hoyt Wilhem, and Willie Mays.

1961 - great season. I'm replaying it using the computer game and the Yankees are the third best team in the AL behind Detroit and Baltimore. It's not even close - batting Richardson and Kubek 1 and 2, OMG how many outs are you giving to the opposition? I think the Yankees won 10-15 extra games each year they didn't deserve in the 50's and 60's because they were the Yankees.

Some Altman trivia...

https://thisdayinbaseball.com/with-a-li ... -time-any/

Only three players ever hit two homeruns in a game off of Koufax. Altman was one of them.

Only three batters managed to hit two home runs in the same game off of Koufax. Felipe Alou on 7/9/1966, Ernie Banks on 6/9/1963, and George Altman on 8/4/1961. Altman was a left handed batter.
