INCREDIBLE 5 TEAM TIEBRAK !!!

In FrankieT's farewell 24 team league, the season finished last night in a 5 way tie for the last wildcard spot... # 8 seed...

My Moneybaggers just needed to win one more game to clinch that last playoff spot.

We took a 1run lead into the bottom of the 9th of game 162 with Koufax still on the mound. But Sandy’s arm weakened after 1 out and 150 pitches and the Surfers walked it off leaving 5 teams with 81-81 records. By virtue of a 32-28 intra-divisional record, the Miracles advanced to the playoffs. (Moneybaggers were 31-29). Congrats to the Miracles and all the playoff teams in this exciting and most interesting 24team league.

I've never seen such a dramatic end to the regular season. Going into the last night, the division champs and top 3 wild cards were all clinched, but an incredible 9 teams were still mathematically alive for the last wild card spot: 1 team at 81-78, 1 at 80-79, an amazing 6 at 79-80 and one at 78-81.

Besides Steve and Bill we were all tightly grouped most of the way. I peaked around game 45 and was lucky to keep it close to .500.

probably the best 24 team league I've been involved in...

Each semifinalist is their respective division winner, no WCs survived.
So each team is representing their division park type--a lefty, righty, bomber, and deadball.
