exceptional outstanding write up

i knew of Frank McCormick (mentioned as not well known now) as a kid playing cadaco all star baseball (where OBP was king and defense/speed didn't matter, and where McCormick excelled)

never heard of Weintraub my whole life, even when playing SOM as a kid

until the online version and platoon specialists become all the rage

thanks, very few character pieces go as in depth as this article, well researched, written, and read

Funny thing about Mcgraw that although he was looking for a Jewish star he wouldn't even give Hank Greenberg a tryout. The Yankees offered Greenberg a 10k bonus to sign but he took less from Detroit because although the Yankees said he would beat out Gehrig for the 1st base job he knew he would be buried on the Yankees bench.
