Non-carded franchise league with twist (plus no Yanks, RedSox, Nel, Marlins, Rays, D-Backs and Babe Ruth)
Description: This is a NOT, NOT a carded franchise league. This is a Played FRANCHISE LEAGUE; you can pick any player that played at least one game for your franchise. Example: Roger Maris only has a Yankee card but he played for the Indians, A’s, and Cards so any of those teams can pick him. You can use any of his cards though. Baseball Reference.com is a good source to use.
You will have to put some work into this. Some of our weaker teams have some great players that played for them. I will make the final judgement on a player if they can go on a team. Pick a franchise from below. No franchise can be duplicated.
1)Cubs
2)Indians
3)Dodgers
4)Twins/O’s/Browns/Brewers
5)Cardinals
6)Braves/Astros
7)Giants
8)Pirates/Reds/Rockies
9)Whitesox/Mariners/BlueJays
10)Tigers/Expos/Padres
11)Phillies/Rangers/Angels
12)A’s/Mets/Royals
Players that played for your franchise, Yankees, NEL, RedSox, Marlins, Rays, D-Backs and Babe Ruth are available at waivers. Trades are OK as long as both teams own the rights to the players. Please pick one of the ballparks one of your franchises played in.
Now for the twist: You may pre-pick a player that played for your franchise before teams are pick. List the player and the teams when signing up. Example: Giants-Mays. No one can take that player even though he also played for the Mets. If you forget to list a player when you pick a franchise than you don’t get him. Thanks, Luker
