Got this reply from SOM:

"We've gotten a lot of feedback on this of late.
We do recognize that this has been a longtime useful tool for the community, and is something we would like to retain the availability of its functionality for our userbase.

It's too preemptive to make any hard promises here, so without jumping the gun...
We might be able to look into how feasible it would be to implement some of its functionality into the main site."

I received this response from Strat as well. I'm hopeful they are going to come up with something on this sometime soon.
