Neither is Cheating ...

Calling it cheating goes a bit too far IMO. I have appreciated the dialog and I think it’s been fairly respectful which we don’t always see in the world today.

I think Yount was out of line a bit too trying to introduce drama and discord into a relatively civil discussion with some different viewpoints

Common with most other "Contests" , SOM should limit the amount of time a person can win. only 1 win per monthly contest and/or 1 win every 3 months or another time period. If people want to spend $20 or $25 chasing a contest let them whether it is an auto league or a theme league.

Per Strat's email to me late yesterday (bold emphasis added by me):

"While our opinions on the spirit of the challenge are going to differ here -- with our viewpoint being more lax than your own -- we do agree that having a singular league taking all the top spots is a bit much. Once the September challenge completes on Nov 22, we will be adding an additional restriction to the monthly challenges. In terms of the final rankings (e.g. what actually matters for winning), only the top two teams within a league will be eligible going forward."

So they have listened to the general voice of the community and actually took suggestions from this thread. It won't affect ongoing contests, but will impact any new contests moving forward.

I think that is a fair compromise. HAL fooled us instead of being a dolt he turns out to be Soloman the wise.

It is an improvement, but I think the better solution would have been to say ONE team per league and you must make the playoffs. Still it's a step in the right direction to be sure.
