ATG 9 Too Flawed?

Am I the only one that actually likes all the platooning in ATG9? I like seeing a Whitaker/Duncan platoon. It's more fun than the early days of ATG and the "never use anything other than a 1 or a 2 at 2B/SS, ever" mentality. It's not like it breaks the game, either. I see many, many teams with Blowers/Mercer/Duncan/Shano/Whitaker/Gates/etc have losing records.

It's also a far cry from game hacks such as 300 IP seasons from Dale Murray. At least platoons have a counter-strategy. Also platoons don't render any cards useless. I recently won a ring in Dunn using an all-lefty starting rotation, using a 6 starter mix of hard lefties and reverse lefties. None of the teams with the popular lefty platoon killers made the playoffs.

I don’t mind them. I use them often too. I was one of the people suggesting making a player set without the platoon players but that was more me being open to play that way then disliking them.

I've gotten to the point where I won't play without Gates Brown and Co. filtered out of the set.

They make team building lazy and game play too unrealistic and boring.

And there aren't enough 9L Bobby Jenks or roster spots available to stop all of them.

It gets old seeing the same managers with the same platoons over and over again. I get it as it works but variety is the spice of life. It doesn’t help that I always seem to end up in the same division as Mr platoon.
