I found a secret tournament

I was updating my Barnstormers bookmark to the 2025 link and stumbled on this

A free tournament run by Strat, including a 2023 round and an ATG round. Now, I only visit 365.strat-o-matic.com and the forums every day, but I would've expected that to be enough to have run into an announcement or any information related to this tourney. Am I blind? Or is this the stealthiest marketing in history by Strat? Where was it advertised? Must've been somewhere, there are folks playing in it. I might've thought it warranted an announcement in that box that's always scrolling at the top of my front office page but what do I know.

"Players are selected for entry, there is no sign up."

Ah good catch. Fair play in that case, lol. Makes a lot more sense now.

That begs the question, how are the players selected for entry? Random emails or some such?

(Edit: I contacted one of the participants. He said he got an "unexpected email" about the league.)

I received an invite for this league, but I have no idea why. Always happy to have a free team and the challenge level is about right (low to med), so I'm in!

I checked most of the league and the ones selected either have not participated in tournaments or not advanced to the semis (Yettie "Ahoy" Johnston the most recognizable name to me)
One exception is 2cityfan who has made the 20XX tourney Finals (no surprise he is dominating his division).

Yes - I received an email about a free 2023 Season team invite. Thought it might have been a scam but when I saw the League on the Available Leagues list I signed up. Maybe they felt sorry for me stupidly duplicating one of my ballparks in last year's Barnstorm tourney. Don't know a lot about these modern guys but thought I would give it a go. I don't have enough relievers for this modern game were the starters last about 4 innings and my batters have cooled off so I am floating around just under .500
