Tanking manager complaint - RESOLVED!!!!

PostTue May 20, 2014 10:22 pm

Just sent this to customer service, odds on getting a response in your opinion?

We have a manager that has replaced his entire team after one night at a 20% penalty on each player, then carried 7 mil in open salary into the second night of games.

This will skew the entire league. I would like to be taken out of the league and given a refund for this wasted credit.

League is your ATG VII "Featured" league set.

Wasted $25 on this league and would like a refund. I have 12 active teams right now, I'm in 2 multi season theme leagues and I am in Barnstormers, I pay for a lot of teams each month, I don't enjoy wasting credit because of managers like this.

What do you think? Satisfaction or ignored?

RESOLVED! SOM replaced the manager and reversed the player / salary dumps. WELL DONE SOM!!!

That would really stink. I was trying to be considerate and fill the "feature" card set league because it was sitting open for weeks and getting no love from the community.

That's what you get when you try to do something nice.

You know, I saw the manager name and had a feeling it was bogus when I joined, but without manager ratings we have no way of knowing.

I think they will investigate it, and then give you a credit.

Then they should give a credit to the other 10 managers right?

Absolutely!

Or, scrap the league and do over minus the tanking manager. Back it up to opening day, offer the team to a reliable manager for free, give him a day or two to set his team. Start over again.

No, at best they will take over his team and make it competitive. No credits will be awarded. This isn't TSN anymore.

You're a vet Moose so I know you have an experienced perspective on this.

Unfortunately, the team value is already down to 85% max of the total cap, which gives the other teams in the division a big advantage after only 3 games played.

I've supported this site for many years, not as many teams as some of the managers, but easily 400 teams. Looking at that number, it is borderline embarrassing how much I have spent $80 5 packs at a time.

All I ever expect is a level playing field. I took a sabbatical from the site a few years back because of the lack of a level playing field (site was down for some players, up for others, I had teams in waivers that I couldn't access, teams in the playoffs I couldn't access, it gave an unfair advantage to the players that had access to the site over those that didn't). This is once again a situation where the playing field is not the same for all in the league.

It would be disappointing/discouraging if nothing is done to correct this.

I hope you're right - you deserve it - I just know how things have changed and "doing the right thing" isn't something we get a chance to see much anymore.

so you are saying a guy dropped a majority of his players and picked up free agents to replace them at a 20% penalty?

Don't know what the problem with that is? It's not breaking any rules is it?

I wonder if the guy was not taking the league seriously and wanted to do an experiment to see how good or bad he would do if he replaced his team?

Or if he was losing anyway so did a total team overhaul?

Im not sure how when a person decided to do something that another manager feels like he is "not trying" is of any other business except the manager himself. If a guy wants to tank his team that's his prerogative. No rules are broken.

The only thing that seems interesting would be the advantage the other teams in his division would get since he would be playing them more often. Which doesn't matter much except for the wild card spot. The other divisions would still have the same leaders and in the post season the advantaged team from that division would no long have an advantage except perhaps home field advantage perhaps.

Hmmm...

Now that I thought about it I have changed my mind. It skews the division and playoffs too much giving the offending teams' division and advantage both for a wild card spot and home field advantage in the playoffs.

But I'm still of the opinion that if I want to get rid of a guy cuz he is sucking in order to pick up a different guy that has a smaller salary I have the right to do it without being accused of tanking my team. Even if it's 5 or 6 guys.

Scott.
