Perfecto

PostSat Jan 04, 2020 4:31 pm

My first game ever in ATG (2), Claude Osteen tossed a perfect game for me. I may have had one other before last night, just can't remember. But last night, after over 300,000 intervening games, Pedro throws another. Naturally HAL doesn't even mention it in my Front Office headline, apparently Max Scherzer striking out 14 Aggies in a 3-1 victory was more noteworthy.

Anyway, HAL did find a way to mention it in the game write-up at least.

History was made in The Wrong as Pedro Martinez(4-3) thrilled the crowd by tossing a perfect game and the The Wrong Stuff defeated the College Station Aggies by the score of 13 to nothing.

Martinez was spectacular. The tension started to build around the 6th inning. By the 9th inning the crowd was electrified. The Wrong provided plenty of action in the 3rd inning with 3 runs on 3 hits, the 5th inning when they had 3 runs on 5 hits and the 6th inning which saw them plate 3 runs on 4 hits. The Wrong simply wore out the College Station pitching staff, scoring in 6 different innings.

Cy Young(3-6) was hit with the loss. He was knocked around by The Wrong, allowing 16 hits and 4 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings. 'You probably have a better chance of winning the lottery than this happening,' said Martinez, 'I don't expect it to sink in for awhile,' he said. 'I'm numb right now, I'm overwhelmed.'

Wow congrats. The 7.80 card at League 34, against a decent set of righties at least--pretty impressive outing!

Very nice. Too bad 2005 Pedro didn't throw a perfect game for the 2005 Metsies in real life. Let's Go Mets!
