Live draft Salary Cap Stupidity

PostThu Jan 09, 2020 1:34 pm

Why do the same guys always play with the same super high caps for every single live draft Friday? There are never any live drafts in the 80-140 million range? Even 140 is too high. It's like slow pitch softball, Hall of Fame pitchers with an earned run average of 8.00.

You guys really can't have a live draft and a real salary cap at the same time?

Also, drafts that start at 7:00pm or even 8:00pm are like the middle of the afternoon on the west coast. Aren't there any west coast Strat O-Matic players?

It's just the same stupid draft every Friday, ( and Sat and Sun) every week. Do you really never want to try anything new? I dare the guys who think they are so good, Riggo Drill, Nomad Brad, The Last Droid , etc to do some 80-100 million live draft leagues. They won't do it, no imagination, and no ability to adapt.

The best part of the game for me is using my brain to build a great team under a reasonable salary cap (80-100) .

Also, it makes everything better including players stats. I am tired of team E.R.A's in the 6s and 7s. It's like slow pitch softball.

As someone who plays these Friday night drafts I'd be fine with participating in lower cap drafts.

However, the usual 45 seconds between picks leaves little time to search out those lower priced players. Increase the time between picks and it'll help, but then you extend the draft into a longer process.

I've been in slow drafts at lower caps and that's a lot of fun. Start a few of these leagues and I'll play. Start some of these leagues and give us a choice. Until then I'll stay with the only regular thing going - those Friday night drafts.

Yes sir, great points. Who cares if we give everyone 60 seconds to pick, or even more time? Live Drafts are a ball. They usually take less than an hour with 45 seconds, I wish they lasted longer anyway, it is fun. So what if it takes 90-120 minutes, it's supposed to be fun.

I have tried so many times to have a Live Draft with 100million cap,no one joins. I am definitely not a member of the IN CROWD here. Maybe if one of them started a league like that it would fill!

The draft could be 15 seconds to pick and I would be ready. However, why must we finished in under an hour. Live drafting is fun, God forbid we give someone a full minute to pick . So what if it takes 90 minutes, or even 2 hours, it's supposed to be fun.

I dare Riggio Dill or The Last Droid to create a live draft with an 80-100 million dollar cap.

Dear Mr. Radagast, I have done MANY $110, $120, & $130 LIVE drafts (perhaps one per year for each of those caps for the past 5 years)....they are difficult to fill, but they do happen from time to time.....If they were easier to fill I would do a $110 to $130 LIVE draft weekly.....but alas not many in the community like that type of cap for LIVE drafts.......if you want to do a $80 or $100 LIVE why don't you set it up? I probably won't do a LIVE draft below $105 million, since I would rather do an auto drafts at caps $100 or below, but I might surprise you and join a low cap LIVE draft every blue moon.

I’ve been trying to get a $120mm slow draft league started for 2 months. 1920s to 60 + NEL.
Can’t get above 3 or 4 sign ups.

The restricted player pool might be the reason. Open it up to include the deadball players and I'll join.

Done!

I just created the Radagast Brown Invitational 8-) live draft for tomorrow night. For the cap, compromising on Nomadbrad's suggested cap of 105M.

No DH
60 seconds per pick

All are Welcome!!!
