I'm game.

I agree that some sort of live draft should be done in light of the limited player pool. It might be a little easier to simply do a draft on a separate draft thread, although I'm fine with doing Diamond Dope as well.

Also, hackra, please don't mistake us all for Cubs fans. I'm a proud White Sox fan and I'll bet at least a couple of the original seven members of this league are Sox fans as well. Didn't that '60s Cardinal broadcast team have Buck, Caray and Joe Garagiola? It must have been like poetry in motion to listen to those guys every night. Although he was always an unabashed homer, Caray often said Stan Musial was the best player he ever saw. That's high praise indeed in a league that included Mays, Aaron, Jackie Robinson, Frank Robinson, Duke Snider, Mathews, Banks, Clemente and Campanella. Plus Stan was truly one of the good guys of the game.

It seems like we need just 1 more and confirmation from RS on who's in and a final decision as to how we'll proceed.

RS: The link below is to a similar theme league at $100 mil no DH I started 10 and a half months ago where any card based on a major league baseball season of any player who played in the '50s or '60s was eligible. We drafted 15 players and a unique stadium in a serpentine draft on Diamond Dope and and then did an autodraft for the last 10 players, with the players drafted on Daimond Dope put at the bottom of the autodraft card. We used the entire card set, as some players who played in the '50s had only pre WWII cards at that time (most notably Ted Williams).

We lost my sister so we need two. I haven't heard a confirmation from Cubbywoo yet but my other 5 are for certain.

Hackra, Cardinals fans are welcome. I think all my friends have become Cub or Cubs fans but a bunch grew up as Sox fans. The last Cards Cubs game I went to I wasn't thinking straight and wore red. That was a big mistake.

The Diamond Dope Draft sounds similar to the one I've used many times before the Sporting News live draft was complete. If it works like that its a great draft site but I think the proxies and time limit wouldn't work with a few of the casual managers I grew up with. Their heads might explode. I hope this doesn't make anyone drop out.

That was a good team you had there BD. Did you win the championship?

Looks like were full. I grew up a Cleveland Indians fan- Bobby Avila, Feller, Colavito, but loved that era- Kaline, Aparicio, Fox, Williams, Mantle, Berra... good luck to everyone.

Cubbywoo is confirmed. I made the league called Childhood Heroes and the password is musial. All lower case. Remember the stadium needs to be 1947-1966. We can load in any order.

Thanks to all

Wow, hackra - we could be brothers from different mothers.

I too am a die-hard Cards fan, growing up in the St Louis area in the sixties, playing strat with neighbor kids from 65 thru 68.

And I too am in such a funk after the passing of Stan. Just seemed like he would be around forever, and he has been for all of my life until now.

So, if these Cubbie fans would like a couple of Cards fans, I'd be glad to join also.

As far as Diamond Dope, I thought I understood that it hadn't been updated for the new additions that came out with ATGVII, or is that old information?
