The pinch hitting decision will be made based on situation/score and the need for runs.......
With a 5-2 lead and Maddux (F9) cruising on the mound, I don't need runs. I need Maddux to stay in the game.
Plus there was one out and no one on base when the pinch hitter came in. Not exactly a critical run scoring opportunity.
