Nev, I'm not sure if you're considering using $5.38 mil Reggie Jackson or $3.79 mil Reggie Jackson in RF, but I've used the $5.38 mil Reggie Jackson in RF on 9 different teams (the $5.38 mil Jackson hits lefties and righties equally well compared to the the $3.79 mil Jackson). The links to those teams, and an additional team where I used $4.84 mil Willie Stargell in LF, are below:

http://onlinegames.strat-o-matic.com/team/299624 - 99-63, lost in semis, Stargell .294 .355 .696 64 147, $100 mil cap
http://onlinegames.strat-o-matic.com/team/819945 - 90-72, .227 .288 .482 47 111 $110 mil cap, $60 max of which could be spent on hitting.
All of the above teams were $100 mil cap, except for one $80 mil cap team and one $110 mil cap team. All were played in parks that favored lefty power hitters, being either League Park '34, Penmar Park, Shea '71 or a version of Yankee Stadium.
6 of the 10 teams above made the playoffs and a 7th team won 90 games but missed the playoffs. Of the 6 playoff teams, 5 lost in the first round. One lost in the Finals. There were no rings. All of the above teams were .500 or better, with the average record being 89-73, a .550 winning percentage.
On the 7 $100 mil teams on which Jackson played RF for me, Jackson averaged .273 .356 .570 48 113. There is not another lefty hitting RFer in the $5-$5.50 mil price range that can come close to consistently averaging those numbers in a lefty power park, with the possible exception of Ben Oglivie, but he's a 3 in LF, so why would anyone play him in RF where he's a 4?
Jackson's poor defense is offset by his big offensive numbers and his great price at $5.38 mil, which allows his manager to spend more money at other positions. Contrary to what others may assert, the above teams made the playoffs in large part because of Jackson, not despite him. 5 of his 9 teams made the playoffs, a .556 playoff percentage, which is far above the norm of .333.

I'm I wacko to think of him stricktly as a DH??
OK, I'll take the bait. With CF being such an important position defensively, I too consider Wilson mainly as DH material, although the rules would permit him to be used as a corner OFer under EXTREMELY limited circumstances. For a good discussion on the issue of
Hack Wilson in LF?, see the following link to the old TSN forums, a time when the discussion boards were a bit more ....um .... lively, interesting, passionate, entertaining and not only more widely read, but seemed to have a much higher participation rate from the online Strato community
