Experience with Charleston 12.89 card?

This team was 20 games under .500 after 106 games, and 15 under after 127 - yet rallied to win the division. Charleston basically put the team on his back down the stretch.

I am a big Charleston fan (12.89M), in part because of his 2L. In a lefty park, he will give you protection against LHP, even if you're using a lot of other lefty hitters.

At the same time, as others have pointed out, Stearnes has a lot of the same advantages for less money--even the 2L--plus he can play the OF corners. But Oscar is a stronger hitter than Turkey (by a modest but significant margin) and he does have the big arm.

I actually find Oscar quite difficult to draft, so if you see him on waivers, and can afford him, and he's in a park where he can strut his stuff, he's a good guy to pick up.

Thanks for all the replies. The more I look at it, the more I like him. I'm keeping him, especially because there are 2 lefty parks in my division. I doubt I will make any more changes. The final team looks like this:

I'm late to the party, but I've used Oscar's card several times. I occasionally like using him at 1B so I have some more speed on the team. He's pretty reliable in terms of production, but he's not a home run hitter (about 35-40 in a HR park). Lots of extra base hits and steals though. Here's Oscar in St Louis '20... only 23 dingers but still hit .364/.453./.639

That said, Turkey Stearnes is my absolute favorite card in the set. For 2.5 mil less he always hits for loads more power than Oscar and you can use him anywhere in the OF.

I like drafting Charleston and a second CFer. If I miss on the second one I still have Charleston in CF. If I do not get that 2nd CFer I just slot Oscar in CF. If I get both then I am truly happy camper. One goes in CF and Oscar grabs a firs baseman glove.
