A question for team owners that won 100+ games

You might also say that managers focusing too much on their home park limit themselves elsewhere and therefore reduce the number of wins they generate.
If my team is built to win anywhere, then the teams that play in my park- who are designed to win at their park- are at a disadvantage. The result being, that my wining % at home is high, despite a lack of effort to tailor my team to my park.

I agree.

I have a 80 mill team currently 73-41 playing in Polo 41 (0-0, 20-20). I only have two hitters with max ball park homers and there combined salary is not quite 6.5 million.

I agree. My last few championship teams averaged 90 regular season wins. My last three 100 win teams lost in the playoffs.

Hal has been seen consorting with friends of Pete Rose around playoff time.

I did a count of my playoff teams a while back, broken out into increments of five wins, and my best overall playoff performance--by far-- was with teams with 90-94 wins. Teams with 95-99 wins were next best.

Teams with 89 wins or less (my lowest category) did the worst, percentage-wise, but 100+ win teams were not much better. My 100 win teams did worse than they should have done randomly. That is, significantly less than half made the finals and significantly less than a quarter won rings. My teams in the 90 win range were better than random.

My 100 win teams make a pretty small sample, but I've also looked at Barnstormer leagues over the last several years for a larger sample, and those 100 win teams have not fared at all well, either.

In fact with 4 completed Barnstomer leagues so far in 2015, not a single 100 win team has won a championship. OTOH, 14 80+ win teams have won rings, including 3 teams that won just 84 regular season games.

The curse of the 100 win team lives on!
