Dick Ellsworth 1963.

For one season, the best lefty SP in the NL after that Dodger guy. If the Cubs hadn't kept burning him out in the first half of every season during the early 1960s, this might have been his career norm instead of the highlight.

Orlando Cabrera SS - 2001

For all of us who like to breakout the card set and run franchise leagues. Especially using modern, exp era cards.. there are no good options at SS for the Expos.. The 1994 team added to set helped fill other gaps and added depth, but this is still a glaring weakness.. please join me in the campaign to fill the gaps in the EXP era franchises

other gaps worth looking at: 2b for CWS exp, 2b for Oak exp, 2b for SD exp. ect...

Maybe I'm reading this wrong but...

"Any players listed after the first 40 (or duplicate players with different seasons) will not be used in the poll"

Most of these guys listed have cards already

I think what this means is that, for example, I cannot nominate the 66 Koufax, as Druid has already nominated the 64

Yes Visick, I agree with Steve. A more precise wording might have been "Any players after the first 40 (or nominations for additional new cards for a player after the first) will not be used for the poll."

I'll try again. Roger Metzger 1973. Gold Glove season, led majors in triples. Will fill a need as Astros SS in franchise leagues.
