You make a number of good points. But first, I realize Giles does not play Rf, so Torriente would have to move to Rf so Giles could play Cf (which would be insane, but still something I had to consider because of our "low" OB vs RHP). The Lf issue is not Stargell/Musial- it is Stargell/Ott. Musial is better than both, but he can play elsewhere. Stargell's HR are needed in the line up because they are the Only HR! In a heavy left BP (Si 10/9 - HR 19/5) we already have 3 Rh batters in the lineup. 2B, SS and CF combine for only 6.9 nonBP HR and 12 BP chances. Even with Caminiti at 3rd, Musial in Rf, and Stargell in Lf, the lineup totals 60.55 HR, a little low. Stergell has 27 % of the HRs. (Playing Manny in Rf over Musial, Giles in Cf over Torriente, and Banks at SS over Nomar would bring it up to 75.2, excellent but a defensive and OB disaster). Musial Has to play, so he is RF vs R and LF vs L. IN the 21 games we play in +R BP, Manny has to play, so I have to decide before tonight's games who to sit, Torriente, Stargell, Musial or Ortiz. THIRD BASE- Mathews has a huge advantage in that at home he hits vs everybody. But Caminiti has that advantage vs R and does not "need" it vs left. He crushes Mathews vs L. Anyways the season is already on. Caminiti has srarted all 6 games in +L ballparks and has already committed four errors. However he is hitting well vs both L and R (.455 w 4 HR). Long way to go... By the way, I did not draft him. I wanted Brett as my 3rd pick, but Hal gave me this instead.

I didn't read your entire thing so apologies --
but have you considered playing Torriente at 3b?
