Wonder if that guarding the line groundout applied to rolls of 1-5,1-6, and 1-7 which all involve doubles and triples.

Funny way to lose the potential winning run.

I think it randomly applies to all doubles and triples, maybe only on hitters' cards? I lost a Micky Mantle double in a pivotal 8th inning in a playoff series recently. I haven't read my PBP descriptions looking for the opposite effect, so I can't specifically cite an occasion in which I had GB out turn into a single. It's probably happened though.

Trust me, the out into a single happens a lot more often than the robbed xtra base hit. That is why, when playing CDROM, I only use it with 2 outs and with nobody on or 2 outs and a runner at 1b only.
