Thanks for the insight everybody. I've been trying to understand PC cards vs online cards differences and it's tough! Great point about the gbAs with '75 Morgan Valen! That checks out with this doc.
On stratfanforum, there's a good Excel doc. showing features by season:
http://www.snarlfb.com/bball/2020_Baseball_Features.pdfFor ATG, it seems there are non-Super-Advanced seasons (1981, 1983, 1984 and I'm sure ones too) that have more advanced features than the PC game does? Where does strat get these ratings from? BP ratings likes # and >. The cards are different altogether. So, for ATG, I get confused with Caddilac/Chevy/Buick as that doesn't seem to describe these ATG-exclusive SA cards.
Does strat have a policy about putting in NON-SA seasons into ATG? Maybe just "teams" like the 1980 Royals got grand-fathered in, whereas 1958 had very few cards before the season went SA in 2012.
Then there are seasons that have been upgraded to Caddilac(Super-Advanced) in C+D and PC, yet not in ATG9. 1980 and 1982 seem this way, but I can't check earlier seasons. The ATG8 excel doc in the player set browser shows "upgraded" cards from ATG7-ATG8 and it seems the 1924, 1938, 1958, 1961, 1971 1973 and 1977 seasons got upgrades. Since ATG8's release in July 2014, 7 other seasons have been upgraded to Super-Advanced and presumably have different cards on PC and ATG:
1958 was released in 2012
1961 was released in 2013
1973 was released in 2014
1953 and 1969 were released in 2015
1982 was released in 2016
1949 was released in 2017
1968 was released in 2018
1980 was released in 2019
1962 was released in 2020In my 1980 PC game, George Brett is different than in ATG9. 1982 also.
I don't know the status of 1953, 1969, 1949, 1968 or 1962.
One final wrinkle or question is about the "Super-Advanced-ness" of the cards listed as such. From 1993-1996, pitcher fielding is lacking, yet they're Super-Advanced? ('95 Mike Mussina is the only ATG pitcher not rated as a 2 on defense in that span: 1e5 in ATG9 and 2e13 in PC, the seemingly "correct" standard "2" for everybody from '93-'96)
Additionally, the latter half of 1985-1991 is "super-advanced"/Chevy seasons but doesn't have defining features like pitcher gbAs or pitcher and batter gb/fb tendencies?
Seems there are 2+ classes of Super-Advanced cards?
