I make specific themes to avoid watching those guys steal leagues because we have no usage control here. I have done a few leagues that cut out the 1-2m players altogether.

Of course, I use them if they are allowed because....why not?

You can make leagues with usage control of course.

Well, Bryan means you can create sets that take out the small sample size cards if you want to. There's no mechanism in the game engine to place usage limits on players.

I was hoping he was teaching me something I had missed.

Maybe someday we'll be able to check a box that reflects players' actual usage for that particular card. I do realize how much more the game engine would need to be improved for that to actually work in a reasonable way, but why not?

Did we ever resolve the great normalization debate?

I'd still like an Unleashed Set for ATG; actually more to the point, an UN-Unleashed Set that removes small sample size cards from the normal ATG Set, while still having an Unleashed Set that can add these outlier cards that some want to see.

That would be great
And maybe even a league creation parameter that can turn on usage limits. Of course it would dork up pricing but that's up to whoever creates/joins the league to consider

exactly. let us have the choices/options to play unleashed or realistic.

I have no problem with platoons and a card like Jordy Mercer's if that's the expectation, but I would also love to be able to mange them based on actual usage and not have to build a team to deal with them outperforming their actual usage. That turns this game too far in favor of pure math and away from what actually happened in real life baseball for the card in question. Without proper usage controls in the game engine, these cards take SOM's realism and blow it way out of proportion. And when the cheap platoons are more valuable than the HOF players, then I struggle to enjoy that.

I'm not trying to be a smart ass here.
I'd put the chances of getting usage limits put into place properly without anything else breaking at below 50%.
Do you think it would be better odds?

Just run a league with the requirement that players stay below their actual use. Owners need to all buy in I’ve done it twice (once DH once non DH)
