As somebody who played 67 seasons of ATG II & III and now returned after 17 years, I agree 99% with Backfire ( I do recall your team name from years ago....so, Hello Again!). The draft was way more important then, than now. So far I have gotten at least 23 of my draft selections in ATG9. Back in the day, not getting Ozzie with the first pick was a problem (for me, at least). Now, his price is too inflated and there are so many better choices. ATG9 is definitely more balanced, as Backfire pointed out.
In terms of the platoon players, I agree completely. But I think it is solely a pricing issue. M Duncan appears to be the most coveted player now at $1.15, but if he were 'properly' priced (I don't know, say $2.50), facing him each season vs LHP would not be nearly as big of an issue. This game is all about getting the most value for your $80M. SOM has done a very good job leveling out the pricing, but they still have a ways to go. Again, Duncan is clearly under-priced and Mussina ($7.22) is clearly over-priced. So it works both ways. Then again, if there were not these 'mistakes' by SOM, it would not be so much fun trying to find the values. Just my two cents.
