As we wind down, thought I would give a little more clarification on filling out draft cards and waivers:

- All players on draft card except 1 must be from your original drafted teams and one drafted free agent
- You may select one FA from the non-drafted franchises, players with no franchise from the list (Ross Barnes, Radbourne, etc), or undrafted NeL players and include him on your draft - only one, not multiples in hopes of getting one.
- After the draft is complete - if you own a lower priced player where the higher priced player was not drafted by his owning team (for example, Kiki Cuyler of the Tigers is available because the Pirates did not draft him), you may pick him up in waivers, and he is not considered your 2nd free agent (since he is rostered to your franchise).
- After the draft - if you accidentally drafted a player that belongs to another team, you must trade him to the owning team prior to waivers running.

To clarify, you can only pick up the lower priced player (ie, the one actually carded to your franchise). You can't use the highest priced card because a lower priced card is on your franchise?

Worded poorly, my fault.

My intent is that any manager can use any version of a card, as long as they have ownership rights to that player. Once a manager essentially rescinds his rights to the player by not drafting, the next manager with ownership rights may use.

Exm: Larry Walker owned by the Rockies. That manager may use any of his cards, including the Expo card. If the Rockies owner does not draft the Walker card, the Expo owner may select in waivers any version of the Walker card.

The intent is to give owners a crack at more talented players if a manager with a stacked franchise chooses not to select him.

Thanks for the clarification. This draft is a blast. More fun I think than the actual season.

One more question. What if someone played for your franchise, but there is no SOM card for him for that franchise at all, but he is a free agent. Does he count as your free agent? Or is he part of your franchise?

This is probably my 2nd favorite type of theme draft. Best is the position draft, where everybody gets the top pick from one position, more or less.

Why not combine them? Pick a franchise not a position, so everybody gets first pick of one franchise, and then 1-12. It can get quite devious if you pick Arizona, let's say, so might have to combine franchises.

Sorry to derail the thread. It's just too much fun to talk about.

No card, no rights. Babe Ruth would be a free agent selection for the Braves - they have no claim to him in this format.
