There was a relief pitcher who actually pitched 208 innings. Showed the rest of those candy-asses how it was done ;)

Agree. All of those things are fixed by pricing the card to account for it. But dealing with a 60 day injury when you don't have an IR is just not a fun way to spend $20.

Hmmmm, then maybe we should have an IR (that would add a layer, wouldn't it?) :D

I know no one's in favor of it (except me, I guess). However, I would argue that repricing doesn't fix the usage issue. There will still be super relievers. With the addition of more serviceable and cheap modern SP's, we'll seem something close to what we've seen before. Instead of 300 IP from the superman, it'll be what, 200? Still overused. We'll see...

On ballparks: Some interesting choices in the first random league I entered. But seeing only one Forbes makes me happy.

Of course, there's two Polo Grounds.:-)

To me the super-advanced injuries ruin the game. I did not care for it at all in baseball daily.

Re the super-reliever usage, I believe the combination of significantly higher prices and new bullpen rules will address that. Sure, someone might still get 200 innings out of Sutter, but it will cost them almost 8 million. I expect the days of 300-400 innings from Sutter and Murray to be long gone.

Also, with Pineiro priced right, Duren no longer a starter, the 94 Expos pitchers repriced, along with Klippstein, I don't think you will see those types of pitching staffs dominating any longer. Only time will tell...

I really can't see the Super Reliever being used with any sort of effectiveness. Like BC15NY said the days of 300-400 innings pitched should be over. I have no problem if someone pays $7.75 million for Sutter and gets 200 innings. Maybe thats a good deal, maybe not.

This is based on no analysis other than anecdotal observations of the market, but I was surprised that the 13.03 Ruth, that everyone uses, only went up $.50 while the most expensive Ruth, which never gets used, climbed even higher. I was hoping to see the latter go down so I would consider using him sometime. On the plus side, the famous 60hr year is now his cheapest card and might finally get some play.

Yeah, Duren as a starter was criminal.

Injuries: Hey, don't get me wrong. I don't like them, either. But it's the reality you deal with out there in the non-sim world. I know we have an approximation of that with some position players having high inj ratings, but pitcher injuries are so rare as to be non-existent. Trying to think back, but I cannot recall ever having a RP get an injury. I've had starter injuries, but they resolve by the next start. Seems like there should be something commensurate with that. I know there never will be in the online game, of course.

On that: I've had some key playoff injuries that just killed. Lost Joltin' Joe for 3 games once during a semi-final. We were done.

I guess the 20xx and Daily games have extended 60 day injuries....so you have a sandbox to go play in if you're not happy with limited injuries to pitchers here in ATG, There exist other SOM vehicles for you to agonize with pitching injuries if you enjoy that sort of entertainment....I for one enjoy the injury system as is......if it were to change to 60 days like in 20xx I guess I would look for greener pastures.

I have a suggestion....why don't you start a poll and poll the ATG community if they would like to have mega injuries to pitching....maybe I'm a dinosaur and need to get with the whole "We're in this together metality" ....and then maybe not.

well, the re-pricing of most of my favorite players is a multi-car pileup

not that anyone should care.

Honestiago, I have had Mellie Wolfgang go down in two recent leagues, once for 15 games, and 5 more recently. So RP's do get injured and without an injured reserve it can really mess up a squad. 60 games would kill my interest unless I could replace him with little penalty.

I've had plenty of 15 game injuries to relievers and non* starters as well. Zero interest in anything beyond 15 games in ATG...
