Same can be said for Vic Willis. But these were on the list george barnard compiled, somebody apparently thought it was a good idea.

OK, maybe not $200M leagues, but a pricing model based on usage would certainly overstate his value - if anyone actually allowed him to toe the rubber.

Still, I wonder how this card will play out. He still "just" an S9. So what happens if he starts and it goes into extra innings. Doesn't his fatigue still kick in after the 9 ? For someone that pitched 538 innings you might expect that he could go 18 without being fatigued. Or, with that awful card, would he ever be able to LAST 9 innings. ;)

Things that make you go hmmmmmmm.....

carlos delgado was selected this week to be placed onto the blue jays Ring of Excellence. however he cant get an atg card with for the blue jays

all time hrs/rbis etc with the franchise

delgado? green? olerud batting champ? barfield hr champ? and so on

and only 1 manny card that is a 3 injury so it always goes unused. what is the point? we want cards that we will use. isnt that the point.

if we are going to price cards on usage, why not eliminate cards for non-usage

Let me start by saying there are some good additions here. There are also some very redundant cards. It does appear they took our recommendations, we just made an awful lot of them, so they picked 200 somehow.

That said, ATG NEEDS TO ADD the following:
55 Al KAline, 11 Sam Crawford, 87 Andre Dawson, 47 Bob Elliott, 75 Fred Lynn, 22 Rabbit Maranville, 04 Manny Ramirez, 83 Dale Murphy, 53 Al Rosen, 73 Willie Stargell, 05 David Ortiz, 69 Rusty Staub, 49 Vern Stephens, 44 or 48 Bobby Doerr, 49 Ted Williams, 51 Bobby Thomson (who picked all his cards, Ralph Branca?), 50 or 54 Hank Thomson (great NeL and Giant--not even represented), 70 Cesar Tovar, 10 Heinie Wagner, 70 Carl Yastrzemski (good offensive card eligible in LF AND 1b), 50 Eddie Yost, 77 Dave Parker, 79 Jim Rice, 03 Trot Nixon, 08 Dustin Pedroia.

These cards would be nice additions as well:63 Bobby Allison, 04 Bobby Abreu, 55 Richie Ashburn, 84 Buddy Bell, 93 Jeff Blauser, 38 Harlond Clift, 77 Lyman Bostock, 58 Jackie Jensen, 01 or 07 Chipper Jones, 91 Dave Justice, Jim Lemon, 60 Roger Maris, 95 AND 98 Tino MArtinez, 91 Terry Pendleton, 77 Mickey Rivers, 52 Hank Sauer, 53 Red Schoendienst, 89 Lonnie Smith, 92 or 96 Gary Sheffield, 50 Earl Torgeson, 53 Gus Zernial, 35 Joe Vosmik, 63 Leon Wagner, a usable Chase Utley.

Haven't looked at Pitchers yet...........

My take of the new cards is there just aren't that many great players to add to the ATGVII, it has all been done. There are a few current players that could be added, like Ryan Braun for instance, but overall, the greatest seasons of the greatest players are out there.

I'm still pumped about the new ATGVII though and look forward to trying out some of the new cards. Lots of new leagues are popping up!

Yeah, he gets fatigue at 9. He will never throw 538 innings because we can't start him 65 times.

that is just not true. i could name several top historical players that are not included in the sets or do not have their top cards in the set.

Maybe next time, rather than sending a zillion random card requests to Strat-o-Matic and having them pick, would it be better to do something organized on the board? People could submit proposals (is there some way we could also post images of the cards? from people who actually own the sets?), then put it up to a vote, and say the top 25 cards are then petitioned to the company. I dunno ... that might reduce the dissatisfaction. It seems obvious that the company doesn't really know the strengths and weaknesses of the set, and they're just throwing cards at us ... that's why there's so much overlap and so many useless additions. Creating an organized vote/petition would give the managers who really know the game a strong voice in making the card set better.
