Niekro threw a knuckleball like his brother, but yes to both Wynn and Carlton, Reuschel I didn't research...I'll check more than once source next time...sorry guys.


The question says led or tied for MAJOR league lead. these guys led their leagues but had less than the other league leader. Wynn-NO. Lew Burdette led the majors.
Carlton-NO. Jim Clancy led the majors
Reuschel -NO. Dave Stewart lead the majors.

However these guys did do it after Sutcliffe.

David Wells -age 39 in 2000 Toronto
Greg Maddox age 37 in 2003 Braves
Grag Maddox age 39 in 2005 Cubs (2nd stint)
Chris Carpenter age 36 in 2011 Cardinals
Derek Lowe age 38 in 2011 Braves
