Bad Defense League - FULL - THANKS!

All 4's at all backup positions makes it easier to police the league. I completely agree with players best D counts towards your total regardless where you play him, that way if life distracts us, we are not embarrassed to find out we broke the rules without being aware we had an illegal lineup in during a 15 game injury.

A twist for you to consider for this league is a mandatory total of 11 for SS, 2B and CF. If we don't do that playing your 1 at SS is a no brainer. With this twist it opens up some different possibilities that might be interesting. Jon.

You have to be really careful about making the SS/2B/CF positions too restrictive. There aren't many 3s/4s at those positions to choose from. See for yourself, go to the player pool and look to see how many 3/4 Center Fielders there are that have CF as their primary position and ARE NOT rated lower at some other position. Let alone SS or 2B.

I'm in with any of the ideas expressed, and I love the idea of cf+2b+ss=11 (or more ) although I have not researched the player pool as WeatherNut has. Maybe we have to make an allowance for one of these positions not being the primary, but surely there are 12 cf's/2b/ss in the 3/4 range. Or maybe we just drop the total of those 3 positions to 10 and that way you could do 3/3/4 or 4/4/2. No ones up the middle will make this a truly "bad defense" league!

I also like the idea of having the 2B, SS, CF adding up to no less than than 10.

So let's make these the rules: 1. The eight position players can't add up to less than 28 as rated at their best position
2. no bench player less than a 4 (unless you are working a platoon and you would have abide by rule 1. in any case.) 3. Your 2B, SS, CF can add up to no less than 10 4. DH
