Just a thought. Not trying to derail the theme.

How about the 2 additional players are carded negro league only. Will help keeping track a lot easier. !

Like I said. Just a thought. Completely on board with the rules as they stand.

On second thought, I just had the Yankees in the '68-'95 franchise theme league. I'm throwing them back into the pool and taking the Giants. I hope someone enjoys the Yankees. - Bernie

DH for me.

And also a question that I'm sure will come up. In the rules it states:
3) After the draft if you have any players that do not belong on your roster you will be expected to drop them and replace with available legal FA players.
4) After free agency starts here is where the twist comes in. You may select 1 FA Pitcher and 1 FA Hitter from all the available FA. This player does not have to be from your franchise they can be from any team...

Now the question:
If you're awarded a player in the AutoDraft that does not belong on your roster but you'd like to keep him as one of your designated FAs, do you have to go through the formality of dropping him and immediately picking him up? It would seem kind of silly. However...
To stop someone from putting a FA they want near the end of their draft list on purpose, you might want to specify that your draft list MUST contain only players carded to your team. It may have been implied but it's not stated, and someone may misunderstand.

I see your point so as Commish I think I'll go with all players drafted must be from your franchise. I realize that it's possible for players to be put on your team due to someone ranking a player who played for multiple franchises higher than you. In this case I suppose if the player substituted in is a player you want to keep then I would allow it. Again I'm relying on your on moral compass here.

Is it all of the cards from ATG post WWII, or just the expansion cards from that group?

Only the cards listed under an EXP franchise.

The rules state:

LANCETUCKER wrote:1) Choose an expansion team(ATG 8 post WW2) 125mil CAP. Use the actual team name so that as players join they know what franchises are available.
2) Populate your roster with players that PLAYED (emphasis added) for that franchise. I.e. Omar Vizquel played for Cleveland, Seattle, SFG, White Sox, Texas and Toronto making him eligible to be drafted by ANY of these franchises. Baseball Reference will be used to verify any disputes.

The rules and the example cited above make it clear that players on a franchise's autodraft card need only have PLAYED for that franchise, not be carded to that franchise. So, FALCON29, while you may be thinking that you only need compete with the Mets for the newly minted Staub card and that the Expos finally have a shortstop with the newly minted Cabrera card, guess again. The well traveled Staub PLAYED for 5 franchises in his career (Mets/Astros/Tigers/Expos/Rangers), while the even more traveled Cabrera PLAYED for 9 franchises throughout his career (Expos/Angels/WhiteSox/Reds/Athletics/Giants/Min/Bos/Cle), so both players, especially Cabrera, are up for grabs, with Cabrera eligible to be drafted by all 9 teams he played for, even though he is only carded to one team, the Expos. But it works both ways. The Expos can draft Randy Johnson, even though he has no Expos card, since he once PLAYED for the Expos.

I gave this a bit of thought as it would possibly keep players from sliding a "ringer" onto their draft list. However seeing a Josh Gipson, Turkey Stearns or Oscar Charlston lighting it up would defeat the Era of franchise competition I was going for so no Negro League players are allowed but it is intriguing.

Actually Mr. Johnson is eligible for
Mariners
Expos
Yankees (Like they need the help)
Arizona
SFG
HOU

So as you can see ranking players will be of the utmost importance as you are surely going to lose a player or 2 that you might have been counting on as yours only due to him having a card on your EXP Franchise.
